09 March 2004MATTY: You know what's amazing about you guys? I mean, if I was 17, I would be like "hey, there are girls that wanting to meet me..." You guys are all into the high tech, the business, when the single is released, when the album... I mean, you guys are all about the money; you're all about the coins.
ISAAC: No, no, we're just making sure that you know, you just...
ZAC: We just don't want to make bad business decisions.
TAYLOR: Zac is no, no CEO.
MATTY: At 14, he is so serious.
ZAC: The Zac Incorporated...
MATTY: Cos I don't know if you've seen Scarface, but first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the woman. Let me talk to Zac for just a second. Zac is 14, right, now?
ZAC: Yes.
MATTY: So that means you were 11 the first time around...
ZAC: Yes.
TAYLOR: And he's 14 THIS time around...
ISAAC: Don't start.
TAYLOR: I'm sorry.
ALL: (laugh)
TAYLOR: I'm just playing with you here.
MATTY: So - but the 11 to 14 - that's a big change in a young lad. If you know what I'm saying... (laughs) see Taylor and Isaac you know they got, you know, the whole girls loving them and wanting them thing, you know, they've been through this. But 11 to 14 - you have a different point of view now. Like at 11 you're thinking, "hey, look at that." And now at 14 you're thinking, I'm guessing: "whooa, look at that. Hello, I am the pop star now. Get out of my way. Ladies..." You know what I'm saying?
TAYLOR: You know, see, the thing is, Zac got that when he was 11, that's what's frightening.
MATTY: Oh yeah? (laughs) Zac was ahead of his time?
TAYLOR: Yeah, he was ahead of his time.
MATTY: He was advanced?
ZAC: Yes, I'm an advanced prototype of my species
MATTY: (laughs) You guys have to understand something, you know. You know how it is with girls following you, this doesn't last forever. This thing -
TAYLOR: Yeah.
MATTY: There'll be a point in your life where you'll be like me and Bill and you'll say "remember who we used to be?" And they don't care. So, a) enjoy it, but b) you know, this isn't normal.
ISAAC: Well, we're not --
MATTY: You know that when you walk outside and all those girls are squealing. That's...
TAYLOR: Yeah, I know...
MATTY: That's not a normal thing for a guy. Yeah, what do they do when they catch ya? It's like, what happens -- like, you know when a dog chases a car? What does the dog do if the dog catches the car?
ZAC: Exactly.
MATTY: What happens if say, you just -- cos you go out with your bodyguards, right? And security people, I mean..
ISAAC: Not always.
MATTY: But I mean, when you're working, you have to have security and you know, all that. Right? I mean, you just do. It's a fact of life.
ZAC: Like when you're on tour and stuff.
MATTY: What would happen if you just said "okay, I surrender" and walk out into the crowd with your arms extended, get rid of all your security guards and just walk out into the crowd?
TAYLOR: We would not be here today. Most of the fans are just really - I mean once, if you break it down to one person it's really cool because they're just fans.
ISAAC: Some of the fans are really nuts, though.
TAYLOR: Once you get a group of people that are just really excited and they all start getting really excited, you get them together, that's when it's scary, that's when you go "uhh..."
MATTY: They want something from you though, I would think. That's the problem. Like a little button from your jacket, or a piece of hair or something.
TAYLOR: Well... the truth is
MATTY: A leg…
TAYLOR: The truth is they're just -- yeah, maybe a leg. (laughs)
ISAAC: Yeah, a limb.
