"Hey everybody, this is Isaac and you've reached the Hanson Hotline. Well, some of you may have been wondering what that recording was, the recording of the piano. Well, that was Taylor playing a recent song that we've written and he was just, you know, playing away and we figured, aw, what the heck, we'll put it on the Hotline. Anyway, we are continuing to do songwriting, we keep on writing the songs, they just keep coming and coming, and, so that's what we're doing, we're just writing more songs for the record and we are looking forward to it coming out, we will keep you informed as to when the tentative release date will be so we're just continuing to write songs, and we will letcha know as more information comes. Also, for all of you MOE members out there, MOE #11 will be coming to you, it is just being put together right now, we are writing the articles, we are putting together the layout, and it will be very, very snazzy. Very nice. Okay, anyway, so that's what is going on, we're doing those things. It’s very important, it's very cool, it's all about you. That’s what it's about. Hanson traveled to France and took part in Miles Copeland’s annual songwriting retreat called Printemps Des Troubadors. The event occurred from May 7-20 and brought together 24 different songwriters for a unique collaborative writing experience at a castle, Chateau De Marouatte, in the southern region (Perigord) of France.

Hanson attended the Cannes Film Festival for a few days toward the end of the festival and saw some short films.

Hanson traveled to London, England, and visited Smash Hits.

Hanson attended QVC's Cure By The Shore benefit at the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel in Monaco, a principality of Europe. Hosted by Sela Ward, the televised fundraiser offered viewers designer sunglasses and accessories at half their retail price with net proceeds benefiting the NWCRA.

"Hey everybody, this is Isaac, and you've reached the Hanson Hotline. Well, after a songwriting excursion in France we have come back with some pretty cool songs. So, that's what we've been doing lately, writing a lot of songs, we've done some timing work, done in France and the UK, we did some press while we were in the UK with the magazines of Europe, keep your eyes peeled for that, and also we will keep you updated as to what the status of the record is and let you know when we really get in the studio and start recording. Right now our focus is, of course, continually writing more songs, and we will keep you posted. Also, MOE #11, we're getting ready to put together that mag, and we will be letting you know when the artwork is done and it's getting ready to be printed and all that, so we'll keep you informed in that area. Hanson acted in a couple scenes and performed a new song, "Get Up & Go," at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles, California as a part of the movie Frank McKlusky, CI, due out in theaters in 2002.

Hanson received the "Most Innovative Band" award at the 9th annual American Society of Young Musicians (ASYM) benefit and concert at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, California. They also performed "This Time Around" a cappella.

Hanson attended the CAA (Creative Artists Agency) party at Les Deux in Los Angeles, California after the taping of the 2001 MTV Movie Awards.

Taylor attended The Cult's premier party for their new CD, Beyond Good & Evil, at the club Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, California.

Hanson performed an acoustic set at the Clear Channel Riverfest in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They performed seven songs, including two new ones, "Wake Up" and "Wastin Time."

Zac updated the Hanson Hotline:

"Hey everyone, this is Zac. We’d like to thank everybody who came out to Riverfest. That was a fun experience. Hope you guys enjoyed the new songs you heard. And for everyone who didn't, we want to be playing you guys a song soon. Right now we're still working on songs for the album. Hopefully that will be coming out early next year or a little bit sooner. We're going to try to get on tour before that, but who knows. Right know we're working on MOE 11. That’s almost done; we're finishing articles up and hope to be getting that to you soon. That’s all for now."

Hanson attended the Hollywood Spotlight Event sponsored by Seventeen magazine at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, California. The event was hosted by teen celebrities and featured fashion, beauty, music, and entertainment for teens.

Hanson attended the 2001 Radio & Records convention at the Century Plaza Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, California. Radio & Records is the largest and most respected radio industry trade publication. Former president Clinton was a keynote speaker and there were performances by Stevie Nicks and Shelby Lynne.

The guys cheered on the Lakers the night of their NBA championship win at the Saddle Ranch Chop House in West Hollywood, California. According to eonline.com:

"Zac, Taylor, and Isaac Hanson, cheering on the Lakers the night of their NBA championship win. Saddle Ranch Chop House. Sunset Strip. Joining the trio were glitzy gals and music industry dudes. The crew consumed heaps of grub and beverages. (The boys drank Coke, Diet Coke, and iced tea--the waiter swears on a stack of CDs.) The bros and their pals staked out a table near the hang's mechanical bull, and Isaac and Taylor mounted the steed in a post game frenzy of bad decisions. Zac, the youngest Hanson for those of you keeping track, was clearly looking for other forms of intoxication, as he watched with amusement and chatted up a fox-ay young femme. Score!"
